Why Traditional Domain Parking Does Not Work

Tuesday, March 4th, 2008

Once upon a time it was possible to buy a high traffic domain name, park it, slap up a bunch of Google Adsense ads, and watch the profits flood in. Those days are unfortunately gone, and Google is always changing their algorithm to weed out undersirable traffic and profit generating sites. The reason behind this is that Google has deemed these sites which are essentially ‘link farms’ offer very little user experience- a person can only click on an ad, and furthermore all the sites look the sames- which detracts from Google’s results which are meant to be focussed on relevancy and originality.

The result is that these traditional domain parked sites are being penalised by Google- some even are being blacklisted - which trust me is something you do not want to risk.

In today’s Google driven web environment if you want to generate domain parking revenue you need to utilize a system which is optimised for Search Engines such as Google, and guaranteed to improve the value and PR of the domain name.
